This year I was honoured to make a wedding dress for beautiful bride Alexa. Alexa and Stephen were married on Saturday 2nd of July and their wedding had a unique Day of the Dead inspired theme.
Alexa’s dress is made from white taffeta with a black chiffon overlay and ruching on the bodice. I also made her vintage style bolero using some beautiful scalloped edged lace.
Alexa and Stephen were married in a traditional Mexican ceremony. I made them this zebra print lasso which was tied around them in a figure eight. This symbolically ties the couple in matrimony.
I also made this red taffeta swing dress for bridesmaid Sarah!
Their adorable page boy Christopher had his hair spiked up to match the groom! I made his cute zebra print shirt.
Alexa is a talented pastry chef and she made these wonderful cupcakes for the wedding. The Day of the Dead cake toppers came from Mexico.
Alexa’s dress started out as a pencil sketch many months ago, and it was a very exciting process creating the dress to her specifications. Alexa & Stephen’s wedding was as awesome and individual as they are and it was amazing to be able to help bring their ideas to life.
