Handmade Nursery (Nesting Part 2)

I posted some photos of my work-in-progress on the baby’s room back in September… now it’s December and my due date is approaching, I thought I’d share some photos of the (almost) finished room and some of the handmade projects I’ve been working on for baby. ^_^

The room soon filled up with supplies & lovely gifts from friends & family!

Gorgeous Totoro print from the mega talented Ashley Hay.

Handmade curtains with pom pom trim & blackout lining. ♥

We inherited a moses basket which has been in my partner’s family for many years. I re-covered it in cute retro cherry print fabric & trimmed it with vintage lace. It’s also lined with organic cotton batting to make it nice and snuggly. ^_^ I picked up the stand from a local baby equipment buy & sell group for just £4! It feels good to recycle & revamp things.

Gorgeous cherries crocheted for the moses basket by my talented Mum. ♥

I made a little moses basket size blanket from utterly gorgeous Hello Kitty Liberty Tana Lawn from Japan. The Liberty Hello Kitty range is *so* beautiful! ♥ I got tiny pieces of 3 designs, just enough for this dinky quilt. The quilt is backed with super soft fleece for safety & to keep baby warm on cold winter nights.

Handmade little girl dresses. ♥ I’ll be adding some to my Etsy shop in the new year.

As well as making lots of things for baby, we are really lucky to have been given some beautiful handmade gifts. This beautiful crochet blanket is from my Mum. She has made so many lovely knitted & crocheted things for her grandbaby! ♥

I’ve also had some amazing gifts from friends, I plan on taking lots more photos! For now I just had to share this brilliant Operation Ivy baby grow…

… and this awesome Pirate Octopus from Lamaze!

37weeks

I’m now 38 weeks pregnant. Not long until we meet! ♥

Thanks so much Marie! I just went for bright rainbow colours & no theme… I hope it all works together! I think it’s my favourite room in the house, I do spend quite a bit of time just hanging around in there at the moment!

Thanks for the lovely comment Hayle Bop! Nice to know that things look well made, everything takes me ages to do! Mum is amazing at crochet! Lucky for me as I have never got the hang of it! x

Thanks so much Angela! I have had so much fun putting it all together, I just need baby now! I hope I’m well organised, I’ve ticked everything off a newborn essentials list but I bet I’ve forgotten something! X
