Long time no post!

It’s been a while since I last had a chance to update my blog, I hope to do so more often! I am still stitching away, making personalised items for my Etsy customers. I have recently added Birthday crowns to my shop, which can be made in your choice of colours and shapes. There is also the option of a crown with changeable Velcro numbers for each birthday!

Spring is in the air here in the UK and my personalised play tents are proving popular! Now available with windows! Great for indoor and outdoor play.

I hope to share more of the fun activities I get up to with my lovely daughter, we always have a project on the go! Some of our recent makes include this dinosaur terrarium in a Poundland cocktail bowl!

At the moment we are making her a mud kitchen to play with in the garden this spring and summer. More photos coming soon. 🙂

Custom made for you!

I have enjoyed working on lots of extra special one of a kind custom orders recently, I love the ideas my customers come up with and it is a pleasure to create something completely unique!

This sweet nautical baby quilt was handmade for a nautical themed 1st birthday party for a little boy in Texas. The colours and designs were chosen to match the party invitations and his initials were appliquéd on to the sail boat on the centre square. As well as a beautiful play mat for the birthday party I hope this quilt will hold a special memory for the family for years to come.

This mini punk shirt was commissioned for 4 year old Carson by his awesome punk rock Mamma. I appliquéd a lyric by the punk band Rancid on to the back of the shirt and rockabilly swallows on the front of the shirt, along with skull and crossbones buttons.

This handmade bees and kitties dress and matching mini tote bag were made for for 2 year old Cara Bee. Commissioned by her Granny who sent me this sweet fabric to use.

It has been great fun working on these custom items! Get in touch if you have an idea for something you would like to have made!

Reuben’s 50’s kitsch meets Native American teepee play tent

I had to share these beautiful photos of little Reuben on his 1st birthday enjoying his 50’s kitsch meets Native American teepee. Reuben’s mum sent me a bunch of inspiring images with the kind of colours and designs she likes and together we came up with this fun design. It looks like Reuben loves it!

Last Days of Summer

I’ve been stitching away every chance I get this summer and my Etsy shop is getting nice and full. Here are some of the things I’ve been working on this month.

Quilted baby bibs with a nice soft fleece back and colourful plastic snaps. Nice and absorbent for dribbles and spills!

Some new rockabilly head bands including this Vintage Seamstress design.

A bunch of cute and colourful zip purses in a range of awesome fabrics. These are so versatile and useful!

A custom teepee play tent for a little girl in Greece. These can be made to order in your choice of fabric. Check out my shop for more info!

A Very Hungry Caterpillar play mat for my friend’s new baby boy.

I’ve had lots of inquiries about my quilts and play mats and these are now available to order in my shop too. We can work together to create a one of a kind quilt, a perfect gift or keepsake.

Baby Reuben and little Zachary seem to love their play mats!

Lots of exciting projects are planned for Autumn so keep an eye on my facebook page for updates. Roll on Halloween!

Summer Celebrations

I celebrated my birthday this month and I thought I would share some of the treasures I received, starting with this sweet Rilakkuma Re-Ment birthday cake from Tokyo. ❤

I was also given a Clover mini iron which I’ve been coveting for years! I can’t wait to try it. This beautiful pincushion was handmade for me by a friend. ❤

Adorable Miffy Kokeshi all the way from Tokyo. ❤

IMGP6259 IMGP6263Miffy is now living on my dresser along with my Game of Thrones Pop Vinyl Dany. ^_^ Totally obsessed with GoT at the moment!

Delicious Umeshu plum wine from Tokyo. Very refreshing mixed with soda water & enjoyed with Matcha cookies.

Poppy got some presents too, a cool Japanese alphabet jigsaw puzzle.

Dinky Japanese shoes!

I’m feeling lucky indeed. ❤

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! December was an exciting and busy month filled with sewing, craft fairs and family celebrations!

Our beautiful daughter Poppy is now 1 year old! She is amazing and I am so lucky to be her Mummy. It’s been an incredible year! She’s now walking everywhere, and she knows a few words and signs. ❤

I had great fun doing my first two craft events since Poppy was born, From Cambridge With Love and the Mill Road Winter Fair. Both are fabulous local events and I had a brilliant time sewing & preparing for the fairs and then setting up, trading, and chatting to everyone who passed by! Thanks to everyone who came to say hello!

I had so much fun making baby dresses, quilted bibs, micro bunting, purses, pincushions and wash bags! Lots of items are now available in my Etsy shop. My plan for the new year is to update my shop regularly with lots of fab new items so keep an eye out for new listings. I update my Facebook page regularly with my latest projects. ^_^

Christmas has been really nice too, all the more fun with Poppy around! I have to share some of the beautiful & thoughtful handmade gifts I was given!

This sweet Totoro acorn family came all the way from Tokyo and is now hanging in Poppy’s room. They are handmade by mums at the local primary school. The Mums also run workshops where you get to make them yourself! My brother made a blog post about it a while ago!

This awesome rainbow scarf was crocheted for me by my mum!

I’ve set my goal for this year and filled in the left eye of my Daruma! I’ll fill in the right eye when my goal is reached. Here’s to a great 2014 and plenty of sewing! ^_^
